چکیده

We propose an alternative for Coupled-Channels calculations with looselybound exotic nuclei(CDCC), based on the the Random Matrix Model of the statistical theory of nuclear reactions. The coupled channels equations are divided into two sets. The first set, described by the CDCC, and the other set treated with RMT. The resulting theory is a Statistical CDCC (CDCCs), able in principle to take into account many pseudo channels. 1 Statistical Continuum Discretized Coupled Channels Continuum-Discretized Coupled-Channels calculations are a major theoretical tool to calculate observables in reactions involving rare loosely-bound nuclear isotopes [1, 2]. Such calculations are time-consuming and may include such a huge humber of channels that they are amenable to a statistical treatment, similar to what has been used to treat neutron-induced reactions with compound nuclear states. This is the subject of the present work. We write the CDCC equations in a schematic model as, [ − 2 2μ d dx2 + Vrel(x) + n − E ] ψn(x) + ∑ m Vnm(x)ψm(x) = 0 (1) We distinguish the desired channels in a conventional CDCC by the labelsm, n, from the statistical channels labeled by μ, ν. Accordingly, [ − 2 2μ d dx2 + Vrel(x) + n − E ] ψn(x) + ∑

Mechanisms for Direct Breakup Reactions

We review some simple mechanisms of breakup in nuclear reactions. We mention the spectator breakup, which is described in the post-form DWBA. The relation to other formulations is also indicated. An especially important mechanism is Coulomb dissociation. It is a distinct advantage that the perturbation due to the electric field of the nucleus is exactly known. Therefore firm conclusions can be ...

Temperature dependence of droplet breakup in 8CB and 5CB liquid crystals.

Droplet breakup of many Newtonian fluids is well described by current experiments, theory, and simulations. Breakup in complex fluids where interactions between mesoscopic structural features can affect the flows remains poorly understood and a burgeoning area of research. Here, we report on our investigations of droplet breakup in thermotropic liquid crystals. We investigate breakup in the sme...

Preventing alternans-induced spiral wave breakup in cardiac tissue: an ion-channel-based approach.

The detailed processes involved in spiral wave breakup, believed to be one major mechanism by which tachycardia evolves into fibrillation, are still poorly understood. This has rendered difficult the proper design of an efficient and practical control stimulus protocol to eliminate such events. In order to gain new insights into the underlying electrophysiological and dynamical mechanisms of br...

Initial State Dependence of the Breakup of Weakly Bound Carbon Isotopes

The one-neutron nuclear breakup from the Carbon isotopes 19C and 17C, is calculated as an example of application of the theory of transfer to the continuum reactions in the formulation which includes spin coupling. The effect of the energy sharing between the parallel and transverse neutron momentum distributions is taken into account thus resulting in a theory which is more general than sudden...

Lattice Boltzmann Simulation of Deformation and Breakup of a Droplet under Gravity Force Using Interparticle Potential Model

Abstract In this paper interparticle potential model of the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is used to simulate deformation and breakup of a falling droplet under gravity force. First this model is applied to ensure that the surface tension effect is properly implemented in this model. Two tests have been considered. First, it has been checked an initial square drop in a 2D domain can freely def...
